Hi Sue,
I suggest using a Realtor to help you purchase the home. A Realtor can use a title company to check on the property in regards to the title. The realtors services are free and can help you through the process.

I want to bid on a property in SC, but I am unsure how to make sure I will receive a clear title should I win the bid….is it my responsibility to run a title search on the property before I even bid on it….or will I have a chance to get title insurance after the bid is won?
